We are located in the Begur-Tholpetty Reserve Forest area after the Thirunelly Temple, on the other side of Kalindi river. The wildlife retreat is approximately 137 kms from Calicut, 121 kms from Mysore and 250 kms from Bangalore. You can reach our retreat only by road.

Glowing misty mornings, wind driven clouds, and warm brush strokes that streak the dusky sky, Wayanad boasts of salubrious climate all through the year.

Summers (March to May) - While summers are hot, but the cool mountain breeze makes for a comfortable stay.  The maximum temperature reaches up to 36 °C.  This is ideal for exploring the forest area and taking wildlife safaris.

 

Monsoons (June to September) - Wayanad blooms to its full beauty during this season. Rains in Wayanad are a sight to be enjoyed. As this land transforms, the rivers overflow and the forests add another layer of green. An umbrella or a raincoat is a must bring in this season to stay dry as you soak in the beauty.

Winters (November to February) - Winters are cool with minimum temperature reaching down to 10° C. The period is ideal for sightseeing,  a walk among green plantations, bird watching and various other tourist activities. If you intend to go this month then you should carry warm clothes for this trip.

The road to our wildlife retreat in Wayanad winds through a forest region and it is quite common to spot elephant herds, monkeys, bison and deer when driving up to the lodge.

 

Ensure that you carry water, sun glasses and your camera to capture the many inspiring shots along the drive.

Like at any wildlife retreat, always wear clothes in earthy colors of khaki or brown, and not bright colors as they distract animals.

 

Alway pack climate appropriate clothes, such as tees and shorts in summer and padded jackets and mufflers in winter.

 

It is advisable to always carry sneakers, caps and sunscreen lotion when at the lodge.

 

Evenings call for something to keep you warm.
